Spoiled for choice
You already have an ERP or CRM system or are about to set one up, but you are not quite sure whether you should go modern and decide for the cloud or rather go with the well-known On-Premise-solution?
At this point we would like to present two or three options that Microsoft offers you:
Online or would you prefer offline?
On the one hand, there is the commonly known possibility of integrating your ERP / CRM system into your company as a local solution – as a one-off purchase or at a monthly rental price, and on the other hand, Microsoft opens the door to the digital world for you and offers a cloud-based ERP system for a rental fee.
- Local solution (working in your own company)
– for sale
– to rent - Virtual solution (working on the Microsoft cloud; for rent)
What are the respective advantages and disadvantages? Where will my data be stored if I should decide to work in the cloud?
Lots and lots of questions – and we have the answers.
Cloud-solution:
Since October 2018, Microsoft has been offering its users the opportunity to join the digitalization and, for a monthly fee, to use storage space in Microsoft’s own data centers. You can access all your data flexibly and mobile from anywhere. You are free to choose the storage location of your choice: globally, within the EU or preferably directly in Germany.
Microsoft always guarantees transparency when it comes to your data!
On-Premise-solution:
With the local solution, you either pay a one-off purchase price or pay a monthly fee and host the ERP system in your own company or data center.
But is there a functional difference besides the local level?
No! The range of functions is the same both On-Premise and in the cloud. Licensing is also done in the same way, because both variants are used via the named user: each user has an own access to the system.
Direct comparison
To give an initial thought, however, you can ask yourself the following: Do you want to be prepared for all kind of scenarios? Then use cloud-based solutions that enable virtual access from anywhere: at home, in the office, on the go or while traveling – you stay mobile and flexible.
In the following, you can weigh up the advantages and disadvantages of the versions yourself.
Cloud | On Premise | |
